for Product: Universal Portable Battery Pack |
| Q. I have clients who are travelling with this pack and I need to know what question to ask the airline as to where it gets plugged in on the aircraft? |
(Posted: 17th Dec, 2008) |
A. The Battery Pack is not plugged in - it powers the CPAP machine using an inverter.
It needs to be fully charged prior to the flight to ensure it has enough power for the time of use (usually will run a CPAP machine for up to 20 hours) |

| Q. I have a Resmed S8. On average how long should I have power, using this pack or should I buy something else? |
(Posted: 3rd Feb, 2009) |
| A. Longevity depends on the pressure level you require, but expect to get around 20 hours per charge for the S8 models, and 24 hours for the S8II model machines (both without humidifier attached) |

| Q. Can this be used on CPAPs that have humidifiers? |
(Posted: 6th May, 2009) |
A. Yes, but the humidifier should be set at "0".
Only the new Respironics R3 Humidifiers will work on 12 volt power sources, but this triples the power draw, so better turned off to save power.
Neither the Resmed nor F&P Hujmidifiers will work off 12 volt.
As an alternative, you can leave the humidifier attached, and put some warm water in it prior to use. The air flowing over the water will provide some humidification, and the warm water makes it a little more comfortable. |

| Q. Do I have to let the battery go flat b4 I recharge it? |
(Posted: 26th Nov, 2009) |
A. No, the battery should never be run flat, as it will not then recharge.

| Q. Is this compatible with a resmed S6? |
(Posted: 10th Dec, 2009) |
| A. Yes, but you will need to use an inverter, as Resmed do not manufacture a converter for any models less than the S8 series. |

| Q. Can I use this Battery pack on my Autoset T & how much usage can I get from one charge? |
(Posted: 16th Dec, 2009) |
A. Yes you can, but you will need to purchase an inverter to provide the 220volt power required by your machine.
Expect the usage to be about 12 to 16 hours, depending on pressure levels. (Battery capacity is about 28 amp/hr, and an Autoset T draws from 1.5 amp at 8cm to 2 amp at 13cm.) |

| Q. Can i use it on fisher and paykel sleep style 600? |
(Posted: 14th Jan, 2010) |
A. Yes.
You would also need an inverter, (modified sine wave would work) and the humidifier would need to be always turned off. |

(Posted: 15th Feb, 2010) |
| Q. I have Resmed Autos9 can i use this battery pack? |

| Q. I have been told i need a battery pack to use my cpap on the plane when i go overseas? I thought i could plug into the plane system with an adaptor plug? |
(Posted: 23rd March, 2011) |
A. The battery pack is not for airline travel.
Check with the airline to ascertain if power is available at your seat, what voltage it is, and the connection required. From this information you can determine what you need to use your machine in flight.
110 or 220 volt can be handled by most machines automatically. 12 or 24 volt will probably need the appropriate converter for your machine.
The seat power plug configuration may also require a special adapter. |
