Contoured eye masks have raised shape around the eye sockets, designed so the fabric doesn’t touch the eye lids and eye lashes. It allows wearer to blink while wearing the eye mask. contoured ones are good for people who don’t like pressure on their eyes when wearing the eye mask.

Does a contoured eye mask block out 100% of light?

No. It won’t block out light 100%. However, as the contoured shape provide better seal around the eye/nasal area, it can block more light than regular masks that does not have any contouring.
